Cute Hat

I received the book "Little Stitches for Little Ones" by Amy Butler for Christmas. It has a lot of great projects in it. My daughter found this cute "Butterfly Hat" and wanted me to make one for Zoey. Only problem I have never sewn a hat in my life. Looking through the patterns for the book I found the one for the hat in a variety of baby sizes. Using my handy plastic mat, I placed it over the pattern on the window with the most light shining in (cheap light box) and trace it onto the mat with a permanent marker.

David wanted to keep it for his bulldog!

Several tips:

1. Use a print with no words!
2. Use a tiny print!
3. Measure the babies head!

It is a great pattern and very well written but I made a few mistakes I thought I would share. As for the hat it should fit soon! Thanks for stopping by "In The Boon Docks"! Forever Sewing Something, Lisa

  6. Aww Zoey is still so little and so sweet. The dummy (the Australian word for the pacifier) is bigger than her! She'll grow into the hat. A lovely picture of your daughter too.
