My Daughters Illness

For the last month my daughter's illness has progressively gotten worse leading us to 7 days ago when we were informed her condition was critical. At some point her spleen literally split in half leading to an emergency (4 hours) surgery! My husband and I arrived an hour into the surgery and waited. I was terrified for my child and so very worried about all the progress my husband has made over the last (6) months since his own surgery.

Keeping it real

Our youngest daughter (24) lays in a bed in Acute Care now after 4 days in ICU.

At one point I wrote this:
I sit in a chair next to a bed that holds a young woman. In a day, she has lost her spleen, part of her pancreas and a lot of infection. A ventilator breaths air for her body. Tubes coming out of everywhere and are connected to a world of machines. Six bags of liquids keep her sedated, pain free, pumping antibiotics, throughout her body.

Not being sure how much is to much to share!

Blogging is about happy things never share the negative!
But in life bad things happen to good people. It is how we deal with the bad and always try to find something positive.

So where am I now? Sleeping on a couch in her hospital room! My big Summer plans put on hold until she is able to care for herself. She makes sure she can see me if she wakes up. That line of sight gives her comfort and makes me feel so loved.

It brings tears to my eyes writing to you but if one person reads this and is asking themselves "Why me"? You are not alone! Bad things happen to good people everyday! We just have to be satisfied with the baby steps it will take to recover. I pray a lot and I have cried a river. I was so happy because today she stood up by herself.

May your blessings be many!

I know this is a little mixed up and I am so sorry but I wanted to explain and really was at a loss for words.

I will be back - Lisa

  8. Dear Lisa,
All the best and luck of the world to your daughter and to you and the rest of the family. You're really not alone and we all think of you and your daughter. It's ok to write about negative things, because that's life. Four weeks ago I lost my unborn child. It was just the 7th week pf the pregnancy, but it was so hard to find it out including the addition things, which happened before. But there are so many lovely people out there, who gave me the strength to walk on and start to enjoy life again. That's the best of this blogger world - there arr always some people, who think of you.
All the best and greetings from Germany,
    Rike
