Where Flowers Bloom Blog Hop Day 1

For months now many people have been working
on all kinds of flower projects to inspire you!
Carla of Creatin’ in the Sticks is our hostess and
I am grateful to be able to participate in this blog hop.

I went through a bunch of fabric trying to figure out what I wanted to make.
At the time my oldest daughter had her second daughter in less than a year.
Carla said we could make anything as long as it has flowers!
So, I did a little creative thinking!

Having been killing time at doctors appointments and
at the hospital I had been watching a lot of online classes and Youtube videos!
I came across a sewing course on
Creativebug called

Wardrobe Basics: Sewing Tunic No. 1

Using her -  #100 Acts of Sewing Patterns
(Which are free with the course)
By Sonya Philips

Flower Tunic 1

This fabric is by Anna Maria Horner and comes in 4 colorways!
I think it is gorgeous!
I did not alter the pattern at all on this one.

Flower Tunic 2 - Tula Pink Fabric

I loved this Tula Pink print so much I have had it in my stash just waiting for the right project!

I brought the neckline up on this shirt and added a 1 1/2” strip around the neck!
To bring it in more!
I really like that the patterns are easy to modify for a beginner such as myself.

  8. Very nice tunics. They look quite different with the different fabrics and the little difference in the neckline. Good job on the adjustment to the neckline!

  18. OOOOH I like these fabrics also, and I would have thought that the first fabric might have needed some lining up since it looks like a directional print... Great Job on both and what fun to have something so flowery and fun to wear this summer.

  21. Love both of your flowery tops. Can't remember the last time I actually used my machine for clothes for me. Might have to rethink that option.

  24. That's fun! I like both shirts. I never think of making clothes for these hops. I haven't sewn any in ages, though I did recently buy a top pattern that I liked. I think I like the first one best because of the roses. =)

  26. Very cute tops! I used to sew garments all the time, until I got into quilting. Now, I only make the occasional garment for my granddaughters. That looks like an easy pattern that would be fairly quick. I need to make some like it. Thanks for sharing.
