Dots on Dots Blog Hop and Giveaway

Welcome everyone! I hope you enjoy your here In The Boon Docks!

I am excited to be participating in the Dots on Dots Blog Hop which is being hosted by
Madame Samm @ Sew We Quilt and Corrie @ Quilt Taffy. Thank you both for all you have done!

I kind of broke the size rule! I hope Madame Samm doesn't ban me from her blog hops because I really love blogging in them and hopping to all the other bloggers sites. So far this hop has had so many gorgeous projects I would love to make.

Dresden Plate Block

My block is 24" x 24", the fabrics I used to make this Dresden Plate are Ombre Dots by Riley Blake and Kona Cotton Solid Coal by Robert Kaufman.

I followed the directions in the EZ Make A Dresden Plate Quilt Ruler by Darlene Zimmerman. The directions are very easy to read and simple to do! So excited I completed it. But last minute Lisa waited to long to write her post, so rushed the photos! I did iron it!

But I have to admit it went out the window when I saw pins! I avoid pins. When I use them I always get stuck. I hate blood on my fabric. So my favorite item is still Elmer's Glue! I just sprayed it on the wrong side of the plate and place it on the back ground fabric. Holds it in place perfectly! Love it!

I did not want to Zig Zag around the outside so instead I machine sewed each petal. After I completed the flower and glued it to the base of my fabric I used my sewing machine to secure it. I think it worked quite lovely! I did zig zag around the center circle! The back looks pretty well done.

It would make a nice apron!

I think my daughter has decided on a wall hanging for their baby room or a quilt. My daughter and Michael found out Thursday, "It's a GIRL", so we are all excited.

Make sure to visit all of the others participating in the hop today to see more fun Polka Dot blocks and projects and also to enter even more giveaways! Here is the list of today's participants click on each name to visit their blogs!

  6. That is a hard choice to make. It would look amazing as an apron, but equally great as a wall hanging. Mmmmm. I have pets... A cat that we rescued two years ago (she was meant to become snake food, can you believe that?). She is now a happy and healthy girl! I also have two amazingly wonderful dogs. Pets are a big part of my life. They add lots of fun and love to any life. Oh, I also have two goldfish.....

  141. I have two cats - Kohan and Hanah Marie. They are about seven years old. My son left them when he moved out and we were attached to them, so we kept them. They are brother and sister and so much fun. They seem to know when I don't feel well and at least one of them comes to curl up with me. They are such a comfort.

  143. Hi, Lisa. What a WOW block! I absolutely love the Dresden Plate blocks and have made many myself (and have taught it many times). I have a dog and her name is Belle. We call her Belley and sometimes Beelzebub (an alternate Bible name for the devil - we're joking, of course) She is 14 and still quite frisky. Thanks for sharing your block today! Debby

My pet...I have a very spoiled cat that is with me all the time. Her name is KC. She has a bed in each room I go. She also loves to empty my wastebasket to see if I threw away anything good to play with. LOL
