My Daughters Illness
For the last month my daughter's illness has progressively gotten worse leading us to 7 days ago when we were informed her condition was critical. At some point her spleen literally split in half leading to an emergency (4 hours) surgery! My husband and I arrived an hour into the surgery and waited. I was terrified for my child and so very worried about all the progress my husband has made over the last (6) months since his own surgery. Keeping it real Our youngest daughter (24) lays in a bed in Acute Care now after 4 days in ICU. At one point I wrote this: I sit in a chair next to a bed that holds a young woman. In a day, she has lost her spleen, part of her pancreas and a lot of infection. A ventilator breaths air for her body. Tubes coming out of everywhere and are connected to a world of machines. Six bags of liquids keep her sedated, pain free, pumping antibiotics, throughout her body. Not being sure how much is to much to share! Blogging is about happy things never share
