It's for the Birds
Hi! Welcome to "In The Boon Docks"!
At our house we have lots of birds flying, eating and running around. Some days the wild turkeys come down and eat up the chicken feed for my Rooster and three hens that live here on our property. I have (6) pullets (bigger than a chick but smaller than a hen) that I have raised from chicks that live in a "hen house". Cardinals, bluejays, nut hatches, and many more birds nest on the hill behind our house. Can you tell I like birds? Well I do!
So when Madam Samm announced this blog hop I just had to sign up! Her blog hops are so popular that if you don't sign up quick you never get in. The challenge is trying to come up with ideas to excite the readers and please the Madam! She is very nice but expects your best! I am kind of worried this time her "It's for the Birds" and mine aren't quite the some. But she is very generous and always cheers us on!
Thank you Madam Samm and our cheerleader Mary from I Piece 2 Mary for coordinating this blog hop and cheerleadering us all on!
I am excited to show you what I made! Working to create a little texture for my birdies I used Aurifil Thread 12 wt. It is wonderful to use to hand stitch, embroider, or cross-stitch. I fussy cut the birds out of this cute fabric "Just Hanging" and went to work stitching. I am new to it and can't do it for a long time but I really love the way it looks.
The basket pattern I used I have blogged about before, so you can find out about it here , if you would like to know more. It is a great pattern!
