Cool Breeze
Welcome to "In The Boon Docks"! I appreciate you stopping by to have a look at my latest quilt! I really love hexagon quilts and this was my way to make one with the 10" Half Hexagon Template. Amy always says to enter your favorite quilt and "Cool Breeze" is my favorite throw quilt.
I hope you like it too!
Please have a look around and come back often!

Fabrics
Hexagon Blocks - Poetry In Motion, Autumn Breeze Colorway, Karen Harris, Modern Yardage
Background - Ash, Kona Solid, Robert Kaufman Backing: Sage, Kona Solid, Robert Kaufman; 2 1/2 strips from Merlot & Pacific Jelly Rolls; green scrap (older than my color chart), Kona Solid
Threads
Piecing - Aurifil thread 50 wt. #2024 White
Quilting - Aurifil thread 50 wt. #2600
Binding - Aurifil thread 50 wt. #4662
Hexagon outline - Aurifil 12 wt. #5004, #2235, #1231, #4663
Each hexagon is outlined with Aurifil 12 weight (wt) threads for a little color pop! Adding stitching to a quilt is something I wanted to do for a long time. When I received the fabrics from Modern Yardage, I was excited to find color matches in my stash of Aurifil threads. I knew it was time to try it out and I'm very happy with the results.
The back is a combination of Kona Solids from two jelly rolls, some left over yardage from another quilt, and a beautiful chunk of sage. I bought two yards when purchasing the binding, it matches the greens in the blocks, and I love this shade of Kona! My husband said I made two tops. That is his way of saying he really likes it!.
For more detail on this quilt please look at my post on Modern Yardage and enter the current giveaway!
Thanks again and here is a link back to the Blogger's Quilt Festival
Until next time,
