Where Flowers Bloom Blog Hop Day 1
For months now many people have been working
on all kinds of flower projects to inspire you!
I am grateful to be able to participate in this blog hop.
I went through a bunch of fabric trying to figure out what I wanted to make.
At the time my oldest daughter had her second daughter in less than a year.
Carla said we could make anything as long as it has flowers!
So, I did a little creative thinking!
Having been killing time at doctors appointments and
at the hospital I had been watching a lot of online classes and Youtube videos!
I came across a sewing course on
Creativebug called
Wardrobe Basics: Sewing Tunic No. 1
Using her - #100 Acts of Sewing Patterns
(Which are free with the course)
By Sonya Philips
Flower Tunic 1
This fabric is by Anna Maria Horner and comes in 4 colorways!
I think it is gorgeous!
I did not alter the pattern at all on this one.
Flower Tunic 2 - Tula Pink Fabric
I loved this Tula Pink print so much I have had it in my stash just waiting for the right project!
I brought the neckline up on this shirt and added a 1 1/2” strip around the neck!
To bring it in more!
I really like that the patterns are easy to modify for a beginner such as myself.
A complete blog hop list is available at Carla’s of Creatin’ in the Sticks , Where Flowers Bloom Schedule !

ReplyDeleteBeautiful tunics! It has been so long since I have garment sewed for myself that I feel all thumbs even thinking about it. Thank you for the inspiring post. Will be sure to check out those patterns ... :-) Pat
ReplyDeleteVery nice tunics. They look quite different with the different fabrics and the little difference in the neckline. Good job on the adjustment to the neckline!

ReplyDeleteSo lovely! And you have 2 new tops to wear!
ReplyDeleteCute flowery tops. Makes me think I should start sewing some clothing again. Hmmmm...do doll clothes count?
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, flowery top...it looks great!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun tops and perfect for this blog hop! They look great on you. I just might have to look into this pattern myself!
ReplyDeleteYour tops are beautiful! I almost bought the Tula Pink fabric at my local craft shop.
ReplyDeletePerfect summer tops! So bright and colorful! Thanks for the info on the sewing site. I will give them a look.
ReplyDeleteLol made me want to go home and whip one up....hot here today.... happyness04431@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteOOOOH I like these fabrics also, and I would have thought that the first fabric might have needed some lining up since it looks like a directional print... Great Job on both and what fun to have something so flowery and fun to wear this summer.
ReplyDeleteBoth of your tops are so perfect for summer. I really love the top with the roses.
ReplyDeleteThose look so nice, and I'm proud of the fact that you chose to sew for yourself.
ReplyDeleteLove both of your flowery tops. Can't remember the last time I actually used my machine for clothes for me. Might have to rethink that option.
ReplyDeletePerfect for the hot summer months!
ReplyDeleteVery comfortable looking, have never sewn clothes. Maybe someday.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love it when the perfect fabric and pattern meet up, then it looks great too wearing it? Both of your tops looks awesome and you look so happy and comfy wearing them! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteThat's fun! I like both shirts. I never think of making clothes for these hops. I haven't sewn any in ages, though I did recently buy a top pattern that I liked. I think I like the first one best because of the roses. =)
ReplyDeleteCute tops. They are happy, and colorful.
ReplyDeleteVery cute tops! I used to sew garments all the time, until I got into quilting. Now, I only make the occasional garment for my granddaughters. That looks like an easy pattern that would be fairly quick. I need to make some like it. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWow, lovely tops and gorgeous fabrics!! I used to sew my own clothes, but not for a long time! Maybe one day I will again :) xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tops and fabrics!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I haven't made clothes in such a long time; quilting has consumed me. Great work!
ReplyDeleteVery cute and comfortable looking!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job centering all the motifs on your tunics. Fussy cutting done well!
