March is my birth month so I decided I would share a few presents with one of you. Everyone loves the name AURIFIL , Dario Valtorta, of Aurifil USA was nice enough to send a few sampler packs to me to try and I am giving you a chance to win one. Thank you Mr. Valtorta!

Slice Precision Cutter is great for cutting paper and card stock. I bought one for myself and one for the winner! It is a handy thing to have in any crafty household.

Mini charm packs are 2 1/2" pre-cut squares and are great for showing you what is available in a line and are useful in many sewing projects. ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. May favorite present was last year when my family, kids, grandkids went from KS to my mom's in MN for a family reunion during my birthday week. It was the first time in six years that all my siblings were together with their families and first time for the young ones to meet.

My mom used to buy the most beautiful birthday cakes for me when I was little...I loved having the family sing happy birthday to me in their cooky off key voices and then cutting into the cake!

ReplyDeleteMy 30th birthday! I worked at Bobby Bufords in Columbia and everyone that worked there got together with my then boyfriend and gave me a surprise party! Over 100 people showed up it was a great time and the only birthday party I've ever had. :)

My birthday is in the beginning of December, so I get lots of great presents on my b-day, and then again at Christmas - so sometimes the presents run together over time and I can't remember which one item was for which occasion! ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite birthdays was when my daughter and son-in-law purchased tickets to a 'wine tasting' at Mt. Vernon VA. The tickets included a box lunch so after the tasting we four sat on 'George's Front Porch', listened to a small jazz combo out on the lawn, ate our lunch, sipped our wine and watched the Potomac flow by! W/o a doubt my favorite was on my '27th' b/d in Sept 1977 on 'Labor Day'....my youngest son, Thomas Elton, was born! when he was a toddler, I was telling a friend that Tom was born on my b/d. Tom looked up at us and said, 'but I didn't come in no box.' Where did he get that!!! :-) Anyways, thanks for a chance to win this beautiful thread. It would look great on the wedding quilt I am making for another son and 'dil'. It's called 'the Civil War love Letter Quilt.' TKS bunches.

My favorite birthday gift was from my niece. She called three days before and told me save the evening and that she would be driving up to Missouri from Texas to take my sister and myself out for our birthdays. They are four days apart. She wouldn't tell me where we were going but did give us a general idea of how to dress. After a nice dinner at our favorite resturant she took us downtown to the theater and museum district. She took us to see the most hysterically funny version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Neither my sister or myself thought she even knew what Rocky Horror was but she knew we both loved the movie. Best birthday gift ever!

My favorite gift was when I turned 40, my husband took my mom and me to a wonderful inn for dinner. It was a surprise.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday gift was on my 28th birthday. My sweet husband had 28 red roses in a vase, with 28 lit tea-lights around the vase in the shape of a heart. The sad part was I did not notice the tea-lights were in the shape of a heart until I got the pictures back. Thankfully he still loves me! :)

ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday gift was that my family surprised me at Disneyland and brought my Mom to spend the day with me there. That was the last time she got to go and has since passed. ReplyDeleteFirst of all Happy Birthday! One of my favorite birthday gifts came many years ago when I was in college. My parents and aunt and uncle came to visit complete with cake and gifts. When it was time to leave my dad made sure he was the last to leave, when every one had headed to the car he pulled out a brown paper bag, gave me a kiss on the cheek and was gone. When I got back to my dorm room I opened the bag and there was the child's record of Happy Birthday. I played that on my birthday for several years, it always brought back fond childhood memories. ReplyDeleteMy best birthday gift was in 2010. My sister had an emergency c-section (yes on my birthday!) because she developed HELLP when only 24 weeks pregnant. She survived as did my nephew with no serious complications. Both are happy and health today.

ReplyDeleteMy best birthday gift was my husband coming home for R&R from his 3rd deployment. We went to Vegas and saw the Blue Man Group but the best part was having him safely in my arms. My mind was at ease. My best friend was back, he was right next to me. I could hold his hand, hear him laugh, look into his eyes while he told me he loved me and missed me. We might not have won big in Vegas but I was lucky to have my hubby home for a birthday!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite gift is one I still have and it is now almost in the vintage category. It is a clock radio that my dad bought for me when I went to the store with him on my 13th birthday. It is blue with purple flowers on it and very much for a girl. I had my eye on it for several weeks before my birthday and I know if my mom had been with us I probably wouldn't have gotten it because it cost a little more than she spent on our birthdays. ReplyDeleteMy favorite gift was for my 40th birthday (years ago) when my husband & youngest sister surprised me by flying my parents and two other sisters out to Denver to surprise me!!! They stayed at our house for 4 days & we partied and had a fabulous time together!!

We had only been dating for about six months and he took me and my youngest daughter to see my oldest daughter who was at college. He gave it to me at dinner with the girls. So special!

My favorite birthday gift was when I told my husband I wanted a diamond ring for my 40th. He, not being a jewelry buyer himself, said he had given me the only diamond he was ever going to and I had a job I could buy myself what I wanted. So I did! (He really is a sweetie and buys me other things, just not jewelry.)
