Pouch - Rayos D’ Sol Pouch

Image
Welcome to In The Boon Docks I am Lisa Thank you for stopping by  and checking out my blog! Rayos D’ Sol Pouch Is available for free at Laura Raquel Quilts I chose prints from Sun Print 2021 Ordered from Alison Glass Shop The pattern is not complicated  Any beginner could complete it. It is well written and with great diagrams for completing the project! I love the professional look  and will make many more! I finally decided on the layout above! I do recommend trying out different fabrics ahead of sewing.  I wasn’t happy with my first front side  and ended up picking out my stitches and starting over! Could have saved myself some time  If I would have auditioned my fabrics beforehand! I had to stop and fix my machine in the middle! The stitches where messed  up and I had to fix the tension! You can see here (more picking stitches)! Art Theory was perfect for the bag lining. The Zipper Pull Is available from Alison Glass Insignia Bag Pull I really enjo...

Retreat Bag 2.0

Image
I love Santa Fe by Sara Watts as soon as I saw it in the Culcita box I knew I wanted something special.  My husbands birthday was coming up so I decided on a medicine pouch! It had to be big and different! I saw a post on IG for the Internal Wire Frames for the Retreat Bag 2.0 by Emmaline Bags it said the pattern was free. I am sorry I don’t remember the shops name.  The frames for the large where $4.00 so I bought 4. I figured if it proved to hard I’d sell the rest. But if I liked the pattern I had them on hand to make more! Do you ever do that? Sometimes I end up with a bunch of junk I will never use.  But not this time! He loves the bag!  It is big and roomy! It has two pockets.  Problems for me  Never sewn a zipper on the outside of a bag before. So, I searched on YouTube and found a video tutorial on sewing the bag by Birdcage and Thread. She does a great job explaining everything you need to do to make the bag. The hardware intimidated me! How in Hea...

I will say that I do find Pink Alphabitties® Specialty Marking Tools It's Sew Emma #ISE-701 (they come in blue too) to be very handy! The poster board with the foam in the middle works well for laying the whole project out.   I changed a few fabrics for scraps I found in my stash. I really like a yellow moon and wanted the lights on in the pumpkins. How are you going to see anything! Here are my Ghastlies! I think they turned out great!       See you can have a lot of fun with this tablerunner! Like adding a fe...
