Getting Organized

Image
If you are here looking for Grow Your Blog Hop & Giveaway and you can find Quilters Candy Unwrapped & Giveaway . Please feel free to enter the giveaways and look around. Last year I found I was not as organized as I wanted to be so this afternoon I got a binder and hunted the internet for free printables to make my blogging life easier and remind me what should be posted when divided up by weeks. 1. Printable Blog Calendar by Amy @ Living Locurto 2. Printable Blog Planner from Jolanthe @ Homeschool Creations 60 pages of everything most could think of and if you do advertising (which I don't) you will find printables to help with that too! I liked the "Link-ups to participate", "Ideas in my head" But I have to admit I like this one Blog Planner @ Infarrantly Creative ! After finding it very hard to sew anything today with two children, We made cookies! I hope you find the links useful! Still haven't found one for tracking my giveaways if you

This Giveaway is now Over GYB Winner #69 Valerie Reynolds January 25, 2014 at 2:17 PM Red all the way!!! Congratulations the red pouch it is! I just sent her an email! Welcome to "In The Boon Docks" Hi, I am Lisa, almost 50, a Christian, Wife, Daughter, Momma and Nana. Thank you for stopping by "In The Boon Docks" today. I live here with my family, three dogs, and six chickens. Our home, is on the side of a hill, in the middle of nowhere, and shared by four generations. It is always busy around here. Right now, we have snow, ice, just got our furnace fixed (yippee), no school for the 8 year old for the last week, with a one year old quest visiting. Kind of crazy but still a great time! Vicki said it was nice to show a photo of yourself (one in the top lefthand corner) but I would rather show you my Granddaughter's first birthday photo (much cuter than me) from last weekend. She really likes cake and so do I. I admit I am not very organized and I am a b

Fabriholics Anonymous January Check In

Hello everyone, my name is Lisa and I am a Fabriholic! The other members and I are on a fast to buy no new fabric until July 2014 and use only the fabrics we have in our stash for the next 6 months. One month is almost over and I am here to share my results with you today at Fabriholics Anonymous! I am happy to announce I bought no new fabric except my Moda Candy Club (club I was in before I joined) that is used for the Quilters Candy Unwrapped and FQS Mini Charm Giveaway! We cannot buy fabric but you can win it! I am finding it incredibly difficult though with all the sales and new fabric coming out so I have been pinning it all on Fabrics I Want , figure maybe when the fast is over I can try to find some of it on sale. Ha ha.. Pull these from my stash to work on some pouches this evening for a blog hop giveaway through Vicki @ 2 Bags Full that starts tomorrow! It is amazing what you find in your stash when you start digging to make projects! So, my goal for next month is to us

Wake Up To Kona Winner! Congratulations to #4 Judy B January 13, 2014 at 9:25 PM Beautiful quilt and the colors are fantastic! I was about 8 when my GM let me use my hands to move the treadle on her machine, lol! Such a nice comment, thank you Judy! A lot of Grandmothers have taught people to sew! I plan to teach both my grandchildren to sew even if it is sewing on buttons and simple things. The internet - I am proud to see how many of you are self taught, self starters, future designers out there in blogland. Judy, I hope you enjoy your winnings! What a great Hop! So glad I got to participate! Very happy you all stopped by and left so many comments sharing a "wink" into your lives! Thank you! Create and be unique! Lisa

Happy 1st Birthday

Image
Happy First Birthday Zoey! I wonder if a couple really knows how much their lives will change when they bring a child into this world. There is no greater love than that of a baby. There are ups (first tooth) and downs (no sleep) during every child's first year which can be very hard sometimes on a young couple. But everyday you get to wake up to that beautiful child's smile. Thank you Kristin and Michael for bringing our precious Granddaughter into the world. Thanksgiving Christmas Oh, how happy it makes us just to play with you! Zoey you bring great joy to all of us! This first year has been so delightful watching you grow! Love your Nana, Paw Paw, Granny and David! (This ones for the records folks)

Sew Kitschy Paper Pieced BoM

Image
I said earlier this month that 2014 is the year of Experiment and Paper Piecing has always confused and befuddled me the beautiful designs were never mine. To remedy this I decided to join Sew Kitschy Block of the Month Kristy @ Quiet Play . You can buy all the patterns at once on Craftsy or go to her blog during the month of each pattern and get it free! Yes, I said free but it is not expensive if you just cannot wait! I think the patterns are so cute! She starts you out easy! It only took me two days and I learns quite a bit. She has a linky party that goes on all month and you can link up any time of the month. Lessons Learned 1. A 10"square is not big enough for your background on your 10" block. 2. Don't use oval dots on you background fabric because it will be going in every direction all at once. Next month I will try little Polka Dots or a solid. 3. Directional fabric is o.k. to use on the oven mitt or pot holder, (not as a background fabric). 4. Try
