Welcome to "In The Boon Docks", I am Lisa, and if you have come over from the Blogger's Quilt Festival, please feel free to look around. Thank you, Amy Ellis of Amy's Creative Side for thinking up such a wonderful way for us all to share our quilts! I am entering this quilt into the Mini Category that I made for a Instagram Swap that now resides in New Zealand!
Size 24" x 18"
Pieced by: Elizabeth (Lisa) Johnson
Quilted by: Elizabeth (Lisa) Johnson
Prints - Assorted Tula Pink fabrics, Tiger Face from Eden, from my stash
Thread - Aurifil 50 wt. #2600 (Dove) piecing & Aurifil 40 wt. #2024 quilting
The inspiration for this quilt was a swap partner. She is a very talented quilter and I was a little awe struck when I saw her beautiful work. I had just attained the Tigers from Tula Pink's Eden and I knew I had to use it for the mini quilt swap. I was also intimidated by her work and worried I could not possibly make something she would want. Ever do that? But this is how we grow in our skills and our confidence. This woman is a tiger in life and likes hexagon quilts. I cannot do a lot of small hand work due to arthristis but I couldn't let that stop me. Using the Hex N More Ruler I cut out the big center hexagon. I cut 1 1/2" strips from all the different lines I own. I think the black background and blue stripped binding of "True Colors" really made all the colors "pop"! I hope you like it!
Thank you for stopping by and if you like my Mini Quilt please consider voting for it! Create and be unique - Lisa
