Patchwork Threads Giveaway

Image
I am a real lover of PATCHWORKTHREADS But recently I had a problem when I ordered (3) t-shirts, ((1) Unisex XL, (1) Womens XXL, (1) Unisex XXL)! I normally buy Unisex XXL just because I like a little room and the longer length but they only had a Womens XXL in the shirt I wanted. See the size difference? The teal shirt is the Womens XXL (very tight on my 40 DDs), and the light gray is a Unisex XL (which fits me fine)! Oops! Has this happened to you? I hope not, but if your my size - 18w it probably has because there is no standards for sizes in America. Do you have a few you threw in a drawer because it was just to tight. What am I getting at? If you order from Patchwork Threads and you are my chest size 40 DD or wear 18W a Unisex XL will fit you but if you want to cover your behind order the Unisex XXL. While I am being so honest, I am 52 years old and weigh 197 pounds.   Why I love PATCHWORKTHREADS - they make top quality t-shirts! The one I am wearing above h...

Laundry Day Tee

Image
Hello friends! I made a new tunic this last week! I found the fabric and it is so soft and comfy. I just had to find a pattern to make myself a shirt. I had a little trouble with the neckline (only because I didn't read the directions)! Once I did, it all worked out fine. I learned I like the look of twin needle sewing but hate doing it! So I won't! Just a stretch stitch hem for me from now on. I love a great deal and the Laundry Day Tee Pattern is FREE and easy! You have to join the Facebook group to get it Love Notions Pattern Support ! If you are going to make a knit top for the first time I recommend this group anyways. They are all very helpful. The pattern link is in the rules. Otherwise you can pay $4 and no help. I'll take the free advice anyday. It is also fun to show what you made in the group and ask questions. If your in the market to try sewing knits I also recommend buying Girl Charlee KnitFix - Girl Charlee you get a great assortment and you...

So, check it out. Amy Friend has written a new book that looks very interesting that I would love to read. She has a contest running Tell Me A Story Quilt–Prizes! ! I love the fussy cutting on the quilt on the cover.   Makes Busy while caring for my sicky family. "Mr. In The Boon Docks" finally got a pair of pjs his wife made. He is quite happy with them. I used a pattern I found at Walmart for $4.97 a Easy Stitch and Save by McCall's, M9238. This skirt I think maybe a fail but I am going to try and save it, because I love the floral print! Nellie Block 77 Farmers Wife 1930s

Image
Hello all Farmer's Wife 1930s lovers I thought I'd share my block for last week #77 Nellie. You can find information about the blocks released last week over at Angie's Nellie is Block 77 of Farmer's Wife 1930's Sampler Quilt - GnomeAngel I used the foundation paper piecing technique to complete this block. Looking at the book I saw the block one way and when I started putting it together realized I was really happy I used a non-directional fabric in the sections I did not "fussy cut". I had to turn a few pieces upside down so it didn't come out different than the book. Yes, I said I turned them upside down. The "Nellie" block just begged to have a little fussy cutting. It will added to the final quilt my love of the beach. The Official blogger for #77 Nellie is Sedef and you can find her tutorial Down Grapevine Lane: Block 77 Nellie Tutorial - Farmer's Wife QAL Thank you for stopping by a viewing my block!
