Away for awhile

Image
How do you discuss family business with the world? I have done this a few times usually after I have disappeared for a period of time without warning. Well this time my daughter had 4 hernias repaired by removing the scar from last year. Before surgery on May 16th! Not quite so smiley today! But we are managing! Prayers and good thoughts would be appreciate! Thank you! Have a great weekend Hugs Lisa I'll be back in a few day to a week!   Create and be unique - Lisa

Spooky Delights Quilt Along Week 3

Image
Welcome to Week 3 of the Fat Quarter Shop Spooky Delights Quilt Along! Each week the FQS will release a new step in the pattern by Anne Sutten. You can download the Spooky Delights Quilt Along Week 3 Borders For the 2 1/2" border I used (2) The Boocrew Moda Mini Charms by Sweetwater . Precuts sometime come in handy when a pattern calls for a standard size. I had been saving these for just the right pattern! So instead of cutting I could jump into chain piecing. Aurifil 2310 50 wt. is my thread of choice for piecing! Border 1 and 3, I used Cotton Supreme Solids by RJR Fabrics. But, I made a mistake instead of measuring my first border to make sure the 2 1/2" border would line up without trimming! I just cut and sewed (excited to finish up) and didn't realize it until I had sewn border 2 on already. It may look a little wonky but I am so very happy with it! Halloween here I come!     Next to baste, quilt and bind!     Spooky Delights Quilt Along Blogg...

Welcome to Week 2 of the Fat Quarter Shop's Jolly Jabber Spooky Delights Quilt Along! Each week the FQS will release a new step in the pattern by Anne Sutten. You can download the Spooky Delights Quilt Along Week 2 Quilt Center - Spooky Delights Quilt Along Week 2   I love this pattern and had such a good time working on the center section this week! You will too with piecing and some basic applique (no skills needed). You got this! I will say that I do find Pink Alphabitties® Specialty Marking Tools It's Sew Emma #ISE-701 (they come in blue too) to be very handy! The poster board with the foam in the middle works well for laying the whole project out.   I changed a few fabrics for scraps I found in my stash. I really like a yellow moon and wanted the lights on in the pumpkins. How are you going to see anything! Here are my Ghastlies! I think they turned out great!       See you can have a lot of fun with this tablerunner! Like adding a fe...

ESP Dress Sew Along

Decades of Style Pattern Company is having a Sew Along! If you are on instagram start following Decades of Style Pattern Company I've been invited to sew along this next week and I am inviting you! Dig in your stash and find about 2 1/2 yards! Let's have some fun! What to do to join the sew along? 1. Buy the digital pattern No. 101 The E.S.P. Dress – Decades of Style Pattern Company using the Discount Code: ESPPDF10! It will cost you $10, I love instant gratification! 2. Print the pattern and read it to see what you need! 3. Pick a fabric (for me about 3 yards), I pulled from my stash this beautiful blue rose pattern from Melody Miller's "Picnic"! It is my favorite! I bought, 4 yards, to save for something special! Note: As a quilter I buy backings when I find them on sale so maybe you have the fabric you need in your stash that would look gorgeous! Think about it! 4. Wash and dry the fabric! 5. Tape your pattern together and cut it out! 6. Rea...
