An exciting thing happened today

My daughter came to visit today and we were sitting on the porch talking. When all of a sudden we heard what sounded like a hummingbird stuck in a coffee can. Loud buzzing if you live anywhere that has hummingbirds you know what I mean. So we started searching the porch and this is what we found!

    Wow that is beautiful! And the picture with the wings going is amazing Lisa! I would love a chance to live in the Boon Docks - at least for a while!

    That's a huge moth (I usually just get the small kind that eats my grain) - but those wings are beautiful and hiding the colourful body so well...

    It seems my words on the photo got messed up sorry! I have never seen a moth as big as this one it was 2" long.
