Red, White, and Blue Blog Hop Giveaway

UPDATE: WOW! Thank you everyone for stopping in! I am having trouble keeping up with the comments. So when we get to 150 follower I will have a followers drawing for a charm pack!. Tell your friends about the giveaway and the RWB Blog Hop! If I don't respond to every comment know that I read each of them and appreciate you signing up for the giveaway! I am overwhelmed by all the new followers! Just wonderful! Thanks again!

Today, July 6, 2012, is "In The Boon Docks" day in the Red, White, and Blue Blog Hop. . I am so excited to be included. I would like to thank Madame Samm from !Sew We Quilt! and Jane from Jane's fabric and quilts for letting me be apart of the blog hop. I love this blog hop, you get to visit a lot of different blogs, see many different styles of blocks, and enter giveaways! Since it is July "In The Boon Docks" is holding a "Christmas in July Giveaway"

I used (12) squares from two Prairie Paisley II Charm packs to make the block. Charm packs are wonderful, you get one of each design and see the designers complete line in 5"X5" squares.

I believe the name for this block is a " Postage Stamp Block". It measures 12.5 unfinished, 12" finished. It is (12) 5"X5" squares, made into 9 blocks and sewn together. There (36) 2" blocks in total. If anyone is interested in making this block I will write out a tutorial and post it on this blog. Just leave a comment that you are interested.

This is the blog hop list for July 6, 2012. Stop by these blogs for more RWB block ideas!

I love Christmas, so when I found out I was participating in a July blog hop, I had to have a Christmas Giveaway. I don't like to give away things I wouldn't want myself. I found a book I would like to own and bought two, same with the charm pack, so the winner will receive the same as this blogger. "Deck the Halls Quilts to Celebrate Christmas" by Cheryl Almgren Taylor, has projects for table runners, wall hangings and quilts in it. The charm pack "Yuletide Magic" by Erin McAllister has lots of useable colors and designs.

This giveaway is open to all who stop by and leave a comment answering this question: "What do you like to win in blog hops"? If you can receive mail I will mail it to you, if you are the winner! Followers can leave a second comment - saying "I am a follower", for an extra chance. If you are a no-reply blogger and do not leave a valid email, you cannot win! I have to email you to say "YOU WIN". One of my selfish joys in life are those emails. The giveaway closes on Monday, July 9th at 12:00 p.m. EST. Followed by a random drawing by a six year old. That is one of his great joys!

Thank you for stopping by I really hope you enjoyed your hop here in the boon docks. Please come by and visit again! Until later Lisa

  90. What a great little block with tiny little squares too I bet given the size of the block. You did a great job.

Things I like to win in giveaways and in no certain order because I can't say which I would like the most:
Charm packs, yardage, books with quilt patterns or small quilts/table runners/Christmas gifts and stockings etc. and then, of course, quilting tools are always fun too.

Thank you for the aweseome giveaway. I love Christmas and this is perfect. I just took a peek at the book on Amazon since it had the look inside feature. Now I REALLY will have my fingers crossed that I might be the lucky winner. That's an awesome book. And would be very good for me. I owe three of our boys stockings still as well as two other stockings for their spouses and between two of those with children, I have three Grandchildren I need to make stockings for. That book has a great shaped stocking in it as well as a mantel quilt that makes me wish I had a fireplace. Great choice of books. Thank you for such a wonderful giveaway.

I'm a newbie quilter who is just really starting on building my needs and wants for quilting needs so I wouldn't mind winning anything that relates as it would help stretch my few pennies a little further. I would love to buy or win something that is "New" as I am currently working with bits & make-do's. AAAWWWWW on having the wee one as your random number generator. TOO CUTE!!! 152. "What do you like to win in blog hops"?
Fabric, what quilter ever thinks that they have enough. Even if they own more fabric than the local quilt store, you can always make room for more.

However, I really love winning fabric scraps from other quilters. Wide variety of fabric that I would never think to get for myself, if it is even available any more (have received and love some that was years old). And mounded together I can see possible fabric combinations that I might never have thought of. Mainly, I get tired of playing with MY scraps, and want some new ones to play with.

I find that I am more apt to enter a blog for fabric scraps more than anything else. But I also keep in mind that ANYTHING the quilter wishes to share is welcome.

  153. I enter blog hops rarely. When I do, I prefer fabric or books, and you have both! How could I not enter? I subscribed to your e-mail blog too.

  159. I love to win books and materials that stretch my norm. I am some what set in my ways on colors and designs I like. It's fun to win something I would not on my own buy and then make something amazing out of it.
