Thaw Out

My mother moved her car today! She couldn't move it before because the ice had frozen around the tires! The whole driveway was iced like that. I danced across it three times a day to give my hens water (behind the garage is our hen house)! It was so cold the brooding lamp could not keep the water unfrozen. I am proud of my laying hens they still laid their eggs each day. Finally, school is back in and a little time alone! Are you happy life is getting back to normal? I know I am! It seems half the world was snowed or iced in this last storm.

Update - now we have slippery slimy mud! Be careful as the ground is thawing. I fell today by the hen house and was covered in mud & chicken poop, just a few bruises (mud is softer than ice, thank goodness)! My wounded pride! A bucket of feed in one hand and a water pitcher in the other, both went flying as I ended up flat on my back. My coat smelled so yucky. I sound like a sissy.

  1. What a mess of weather for your neck of the woods! That sounds like a bad fall, I hope you don't feel any after affects.
