Hi everyone I hope your all enjoying the beginning of Fall!
Things have been a little busy here in the boon docks.
Little Zoey has been visiting for the last two weeks!
So not a lot of sewing has happened!

I did have a conversation with Jim from Colonial Needle
about their wonderful product ThimblePad,
he was so nice he sent
some for me to Giveaway to
my friends at "In The Boon Docks"!

That is YOU by the way!

Here I am using a ThimblePad while I was
hand quilting the Flowering Snowball Mini Quilt!
I found them to be very comfortable, easy to use,
and I am still using the same one I used then.
The sticky really lasts a longtime.

I have to say,
I don't see me using a traditional thimble
again but if I do
Colonial Needle
has some really nice ones.

    These are fantastic thimble pads, I can not for the life of me keep a traditional thimble on my finger for love or money and especially in the winter, my hands crack terribly.

    I'm so glad my Mom taught me to use a thimble. I curse every time I forget to put one on and spear my finger. Love those patches but I've been out of them for a little while. I forget until I pick up the needle. Thanks.

Dresden Plate Block My block is 24" x 24", the fabrics I used to make this Dresden Plate are Ombre Dots by Riley Blake and Kona Cotton Solid Coal by Robert Kaufman. I followed the directions in the EZ Make A Dresden Plate Quilt Ruler by Darlene Zimmerman. The directions are very easy to read and simple to do! So excited I completed it. His items are sold in historical shops throughout West Virginia. He is a lover of reclaimed wood of historical nature and creator of works of art! Greg (Cartwright's Creations) & I A note from Greg Dear Readers I have provided two seam rippers to Lisa so she can have one and one to give away. They are both made from beautiful old growth oak which was reclaimed from the original train depot in Weston (Lewis County), West Virginia. Train service was established in Weston around 1880. This wood is representative of a great part of my passion for this venture in woodworking for me – that is finding wood with a story to it.
