Project Teen Class

This last Saturday, I went to Quilter's Square , in Lexington, KY,
and took a class with
Melissa Mortenson of
Polkadot Chair!

I was really excited to meet Melissa, she is a super talented Blogger, Author, and Designer! We received her book Project Teen as part of the class which was wonderful that Kela, Quilter's Square, set it up that way.

If you are like me with a 9 years old at home this book is perfect! New ideas for the older child in your house! I am making the study pillow and putting it under the Christmas tree with his new set of books! I plan on making a few other projects in the book for my niece too! It is a must have book for any Sewist collection!

The Study Pillow

I picked the fabrics based on what
I hope David would like
but I just could not help myself
and used
Tula Pink line Moonshine
and a mix of Cotton + Steel Basics

Melissa was nice enough to sign all our books
and write a personal note to each of us.

Inspiration is everywhere at Quilter's Square with a great selection of modern and traditional fabrics, patterns, books, and every notion invented! Run by a Mother/Daughter duo who are creative and kind! I just cannot tell you how welcomed I feel when I stop in to shop! My favorite kinda local quilt store!

They even have an online store at Quilter's Square

It was delightful to take the class! I got to meet up with some old and new friends! I learned how to make piping and that I should next time spend more time sewing than talking. Well maybe next time I will just watch and talk more. If you get a chance to take a course with Melissa, jump on it! She is a great teacher and a all around nice person! I cannot wait for her new fabric line to come out next year!

Thank you my friends for reading and following!

  1. This looked like a fun time! What is a study pillow? The three you made look nice, but I don't really know what a study pillow is. I really like you personalizing them with their names. Great idea.

Ps. I'm including my email, because I'm not sure if I'm still a no response person.

    1. It is a pillow with pockets to use when you travel and fits a standard pillow directions are inside a book called Project Teen!
