Patchwork Threads Giveaway

I am a real lover of PATCHWORKTHREADS

But recently I had a problem when I ordered (3) t-shirts, ((1) Unisex XL, (1) Womens XXL, (1) Unisex XXL)!

I normally buy Unisex XXL just because I like a little room and the longer length but they only had a Womens XXL in the shirt I wanted.

See the size difference?

The teal shirt is the Womens XXL (very tight on my 40 DDs), and the light gray is a Unisex XL (which fits me fine)! Oops!

Has this happened to you?

I hope not, but if your my size - 18w it probably has because there is no standards for sizes in America. Do you have a few you threw in a drawer because it was just to tight.

What am I getting at?

If you order from Patchwork Threads and you are my chest size 40 DD or wear 18W a Unisex XL will fit you but if you want to cover your behind order the Unisex XXL. While I am being so honest, I am 52 years old and weigh 197 pounds.

Why I love PATCHWORKTHREADS - they make top quality t-shirts! The one I am wearing above has been wash at least 100 times and it still looks great and is as soft as the day I bought it! The Customer Service cannot be beat! When I contacted Lindsay Szèchènyi about my problem, she agreed to send me a new shirt that fit and admitted that it does happen even with the SIZE CHARTS | PATCHWORKTHREADS posted. So, next time you are looking for a great sewing related t-shirt and your my size think of the Unisex Sizes!

Patchwork Threads is sponsoring this giveaway! Thank you Lindsay!

But did not offer me anything for this post or my opinion. I just love the top notch products!

I am just trying to help my friends out who are curvy! Good luck everyone! Lisa

  3. Yes I have ordered the wrong size shirt, and if shirt is tight I give to one of my sisters, who are smaller than me. If the shirt is too big, and a T-shirt, I use it as a sleeping shirt. Thanks,

  4. I don't think there's anyone who hasn't ordered the wrong size. I'm a naturally thin person who has trouble getting a shirt small enough. If I order a small at least half the time I need a medium and visa versa. Online ordering is difficult because each shop has different sizing. Wish there was a standard sizing. Rina

  5. Yes I have, my boobs are even bigger than yours, I have to always order unisex (or normally just go to the men's section), it's such a bummer too, cause I wouldn't mind a little curve in at the waist, but I definitely don't like my boobies all squashed either.

  8. So sorry about the size problems you're having. Being short I seem to have size problems also, I have a hard time buying online. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the black shirt in the last photo, "I quilt so I don't kill people", is fantastic. Thanks for the generous giveaway! ;-> Toni Anne

  11. Yup! For this reason I hardly ever buy clothes online x

  12. Even if I get the correct size, I am often disappointed when it shrinks too much.

  13. These shirts are Awesome!! Yes..I have ordered shirts is "right" size..that turn out too small :( Or fit great..until washed...Arrrrgh!

Thank you for chance to win your give-a-way too! :D

  18. Ah yes.....the perils of women's clothing sizes. I wish that the sizing was just based on actual stated inches.....like bust sizes in a knitting pattern. :-)

  19. Oh yes. More times that I'd like to admit.

  20. Absolutely, the perils of on line shopping!

  21. I'm like you I have trouble with shirts fitting properly because of my bra size. I also like them longer in back and front. I have ordered many many shirts that were to small. I found out that ordering the unisex sizes work much better because they are not made for Barbie dolls. 😉

  22. I have trouble ordering shirts on line for the very same reason! I need to be able to try them on first.

  23. I think we all have ordered the wrong size of shirt. If the companies would all just get together and have 1 size chart!

  24. Yes, I have and it's annoying that most brands sizing is so different.

  25. Yes, I ordered a small women's fit t-shirt for my favorite team, and it was only big enough to fit a small child. Women's fit runs small, so I order a large for my size 6 top!

  26. I'm also not s Barbie doll size so would love to give these a try, thanks for the chance to win.

  27. I think we all have the same problem no matter what the size. However I'm in your boat too, and paddling hard.
    Thanks for the information.

  30. Yes, I have ordered the wrong size before. It's hard to decide on the correct size when they just use small, medium, or large. Thanks for the chance to win a cute shirt.

  31. What fun shirts! I have a male friend who just started to sew, so I'm glad to see the unisex shirts! I see a "sewist" shirt in his future, lol! You are so right, it is awfully hard to know what to order or try on when you aren't an extra small. :-P

  33. I ordered matching shirts for my kids and myself and was very disappointed when I had the same problem- women's XL is just soooo much smaller than a regular XL!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I have ordered the wrong shirt size, usually because I have a hard time realizing that I'm not a medium anymore!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have not, but then i never order clothes online for this exact reason. I have so much trouble finding clothes that fit when I can try them on, that I know this would happen if I ordered online.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I did...it was for my DH, and can't remember now if it was too big or too little, but by the time I returned it, they no longer had his size...: (

    ReplyDelete
  37. I don't order clothing online for this very reason! Your information is very helpful for ordering these shirts though.

  38. I too hate it that in the US you just can't consistently tell clothes sizes, or shoe sizes. They vary by manufacturer and for t-shirts, the variance is huge. I've never ordered anything from Patchwork Threads, but love that they provided you such great customer service. That wins me to be a loyal shopper anytime. And they have such cute clothes, that I'm definitely going to place an order regardless of your giveaway. Thanks for sharing this insight.

  39. Yes, and even though I washed in cold water and tumbled dry low, two identical shirts in the same size from the same manufacturer shrunk differently. I can still wear the one, but not the other.

  40. Unfortunately, more than once. I learned from a friend however, she refuses to try clothes on in the store. She buys a ton, tries them on at home and returns most of them. She only shops at places that offer free returns. So, other than the frustration, I don't mind making returns. I had a blouse I loved, wore it completely out, couldn't find anything like it so 3 weeks ago I cut it up for a pattern and made 3 new blouses that I love. I think I'll make several more just because I love the fit. Thanks.

  41. Oh yes, without standard sizing it is so hard to know if your size will be too big, too small or just right. Very hit and miss - puts me off buying online.

  46. I do ALL the time!! I hate that different shops have different sizes compared to other shops. Makes it hard to actually be confident in buying a shirt!

  47. I'm nervous about ordering online because of this. The few times I have I've been lucky and the shirt has fit.

  48. Oh, yes! It's usually when I need a particular shirt in a hurry, too and the sizing is all wrong, so I need to find something else to wear.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yes, I have had that happen several times, too! I like my t-shirts to be loose and long, so I almost always order a size or two larger, if it doesn't fit I have my mom, and sister who I can pass it on to.
I love the quilting themed T's I really need one, thanks for the giveaway!

  52. I have, on occasion, ordered the wrong size shirt. I like to be able to move my arms freely, and some shirts are not cut that way, so I have to order a larger size than normal. mtmom57@gmail.com
