As I await the arrival of of my daughters and grandchildren for Christmas I am grateful that all of them are in good health considering the year they have had! Both girl have suffered losses in jobs, cars, and homes! It could have been much worse and I pray that 2019 will be a much better year! Everything lost can be replaced but they cannot!
I pray that your holidays are filled with love and laughter!
If you find in the New Year you can afford to help Ashley and the girls recover from the fire that destroyed everything please give to the Go Fund Me page I setup!
Merry Christmas and thank you, Lisa

Current Update on Ashley, Lilly, and Sarah
Last I blogged my girls had been lost their home in a apartment fire
and I ask for Prayer Request!
There is a link there to the local paper in Wheeling, WV, that tells about the fire!
Currently, they are still staying with another family and looking for a place to live.
I started a Go Fund Me page to help get furniture, appliances, cribs, and other household items.
If you would like to donate here is the link!
They have received some help from Red Cross, Salvation Army, family and friends! I am so grateful to everyone who have helped! Thank you! Please keep our family in your prayers!
and Happy New Years

My daughter and her children where rear ended the week of Thanksgiving! The car was totaled and she is going to therapy weekly for her back.
Tuesday the apartment above theirs caught on fire. It killed her neighbor and left them homeless! Luckily for our family her and the girls happened to be at a friends house. We are so grateful this friend is letting them stay with them until next week when they come home for Christmas. We pray by then that housing will be available for them to move into! Pray for us all to be strong during these times of troubles!
We feel so sad about her neighbor and for his family. Please pray for them!
Here is the link to the newspaper to read about what happened!
The circled window is my granddaughters’ room! All the water from the fire trucks ended up in their apartment!
Please take my advice get Renters Insurance!
Tell everyone you know to get some! She didn’t have and lost everything in less than an hour!
Thank you for praying and reading!
Have a a Merry Christmas!

My Sew Together Bag more about it this bag here
Extra long Strap
Quilt for a Foster Child one of a local family! Blocks from a free Craftsy class years ago, I learned a lot. You see my first hexagons I ever made. Beautiful baby will always have a quilt.
Woppet Buckets - I love this pattern and just keep making more! Clever Woppet on Instagram - Anna Cunningham
These first (2) I made for out bathroom to hold our toiletries!
This one was for the #woppetbucketswap
Swapped this one for Luke Hayes’ birthday! I got some great ornaments in return!
The first one was for the #sugarplumswap! I really recommend the pattern! Simple, versatile, and useful!
The (2) stockings where fun! I’d like to make a few more if I get the time!
Quilted Notions Pouch - love it but it has a lot of hand sewing! I changed the pattern a bit by sewing the zipper in with my sewing machine!
Working on Halloween Couch Pillows for next year.
There is more and I will try to post it this week! I got a lot done but never had the time to blog but that is going to change in 2019. One goal is how many post a month? What do you think? At least once a week or two a month?
I have had pneumonia since Thanksgiving and my little granddaughter Lilly since then too! Mommy came yesterday and I will be sad to see her go home! But I have Christmas sewing to get done or I’ll be seeing Christmas Eve. Love you all and thanks for reading. Lisa

Vintage Christmas is a great book for beginners to experts alike who love to sew! So many great blocks to sew year after year! The blocks can be used for quilts and gifts (Mug Rugs, Bags, Tablerunners, and Pillows to name a few)!
Week 7 Block - Toy Train
The fabric is Cozy Christmas by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs. It was released a couple of years ago but you can still find it at the Fat Quarter Shop. The thing I love about Christmas fabric is it never goes out of style.

I finally after years of wanting another Sew Together Bag, Pattern by @sewdemented on Instagram started one on yesterday! You can find the .pdf pattern in Michelle’s IG profile or purchase a paper copy in a quilt store or online at Fat Quarter Shop
I bought the pattern 2 summers ago and found it intimidating so I decided to check YouTube and I found Margaret’s video which took the intimidation away! She is very personable and goes through set by step! You have to still buy the pattern because she gives no dimensions!
You can find Margaret online Margaret of MMQ https://youtu.be/Lrvud8RWFIU
Here is my progress
I am doing it all in Alison Glass Fabric! Hope to finish it today! What are you sewing? Does a pattern ever intimidate you? Leave a comment!
Big hugs! Lisa

17 years ago today America was attacked by Terrorist!
I still feel like it was yesterday! So much harm was done in one day to the American way of life. It is still hard to put into words the anger I still feel today! I hope
we are safer today than we where then!
Safeguards are in place so it cannot happen again!
But if we forget the past, and don’t remain vigilant, it could happen in the future!
Take time today to research September 11, 2001, if you where little and don’t remember! Those who remember please never forget what
this country has been through!
Say a prayer for all those who lost their lives and their families who still struggle with the loss of their family member! Because it never ends for them!
Say another pray for all those First Responders who died or where injured trying to save lives! There where so many who didn’t even know what was happening and ran to do their jobs no matter what it cost them! Their families are still left without their loved ones!
Thousands died that day right here in America! So let it not be forgotten!
This may not be much of tribute but a reminder to know the history of our country! Watch a video from that day, they are all over the internet! Yes it will make you uncomfortable it should! So you know why we have to keep our country safe and have Military to guard our borders and beyond! Know why our airports pull random people for inspection! Be grateful they do!

A scarf in the Summer!
It is super soft, lightweight, and brings color to your day!
Tutorial by Crystal of Hello Creative Family
I am doing a one month challenge of only using Sewtites
(No pins or clips) and they worked perfect sewing the end together!
The pattern is great for beginners and does not take very long to complete!
It only took me 30 minutes to complete.
Pick a fabric you think is gorgeous,
that you don’t want to cut all up and sew back together.
It is perfect and stands out all on its own!
I bought this fabric over 2 years ago second hand.
I knew it was vintage and prewashed.
It is a vintage lawn that we figured out.
Who made it nothing positive.
Looks like, feels like, but couldn’t find it in a database of Liberty.
