A Perfect Picnic Blog Hop

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to In The Boon Docks, I am Lisa, today is
day 5 of the hop and our day for a picnic!

Well by now you have seen some pretty nice picnics
and beautiful quilts!

Lately our lives are a bit turned upside down!
Sewing is a passion for me,
I love it and blog hops
but responsibility to family always comes first.

It is easy to plan a perfect picnic
But when you mix life into it
Anything goes

I think I covered all the requirements with the help
of our Grandkids and a great Giveaway!

(Hopefully Madam Samm @ Sew We Quilt and
Mary @ I Piece 2 - Mary
will laugh at our perfect picnic)!
Without them we wouldn't have had this great blog hop
so thank you both for all your planning and hard work!

Most important for the "Perfect Picnic"
Is entertainment
Kids love water
David enjoy teaching Zoey
Slip and slide

(She mostly sat and got sprayed)
Very entertaining for her!

Have a picnic basket!
(It looks pretty good for being 20 years old)

Have a menu!
(For two kids the best menu is always McDonalds)

Have a kid run away with the dinner!
(No I don't think that was one of the rules)
But it did happen!
At 18 months sharing is not one of her good points!

A Picnic Quilt
(still needs work)
By this time Zoey was getting a little
tired and decided to break it in!

A book or a game -
David and I love playing UNO
We play all the time except with Zoey
(She cheats and bends the cards)
Part of the Giveaway is

A new deck of UNO cards!

The other part of the giveaway

A $25 Gift Certificate to Pink Chalk Fabrics

  19. Thanks for sharing your fun family picnic. My sewing happens around my other obligations, too, and family is first. Sewing my picnic quilt did not happen until after my new daughter and son-in-law and new grandbaby packed up to move to their new home. I was down to the wire on this one and, honestly, had they been able to stay a few more days, I would be snuggling the baby and my quilt would still be in pieces. Looking forward to seeing more of your picnic quilt ... :) Pat

I've been invited to sit the boys while my daughter and her husband go on vacation. So, I'll be flying there next Saturday and can hardly wait for our picnic. I don't have room to put a quilt in my suitcase, so we'll just use a regular blankie.
Visiting Pink Chalk Fabrics is like a child going to the candy store. I want it all; all isn't good for me; and I want it Now! lol After quite some time, I decided I would buy some Birthday Stack - Diana Solids FQ and Birthday Stack - Megan FQs and Boulder County Community Flood Quilt Bundle. I am trying to get back to working on my Grandmother's Flower quilt and the solids would be perfect. And I adore the Megan fat quarters. I think they would coordinate with FQs for great blocks. A fat eighth is plenty for the round of solids in a block.

Thanks for participating in the hop and sharing not only your beautiful quilt but also your joy concerning your grandchildren.
