I will be making several mini quilts over the next few months with custom Cotton Supreme Solids for the CIC 2016. Exciting times with all the color stories in the CIC 2016 Brochure by designer Brenda Ratliff | RJR Fabrics

What is CIC? CIC 2016 offers custom Cotton Supreme Solid color stories hand selected by Brenda Ratliff of Just A Bit Frayed. There are 12 color stories in all and each story features 10 different Cotton Supreme Solids including 11 NEW solid colors, which are identified in the color story. In addition, we have designed 12 new mini quilt patterns to support the program. Each mini is made from the 10 solid colors featured in a specific color story.   53. Fun new fabrics. For years, I always enjoyed making mini-quilts simply to test fabrics and a block. Now I like to make them for fun and fast projects that also make for great decorations, as well as gifts.

  74. Indeed I have...a few of my quilts that I planned to make twin or bigger, stayed in the "mini " form as I didn't buy enough fabric or just plain loved ;em in that size. Mini quilts make perfect wall hangings for any room or hallway. Thank you LIsa....Happy Friday.

  90. At first I didn't get the idea of making a mini quilt because well that wouldn't cover anyone. Then I made wall hangings for seasonal decorations. Now I've sent my first mini quilt off in an Instagram exchange and it was so fun receiving one in return. I'm signed up for another exchange right now!

  109. I have made several mini quilts, both by machine and by hand, and in a combination of both. They are wonderful for wall hangings, table toppers, and even cat quilts to keep them off of your work in progress. Tiny ones can be mug rugs or even fabric greeting cards.

  142. Yes, I have. I was doing a BOM for Sylvia's Bridal Sampler by Jennifer Chiaverini. This one, we chose blocks and enlarged them to 12"....this one, I ended up enlarging too much. So I finished it, put a border on, and made a 20" mini quilt. Nice for practicing FMQ techniques, binding, audition thread colors.
    I've since made a few more and plan to make more!
