First, if you are looking for the Giveaway click HERE ! . Welcome to all the new followers and thank you all for sharing about your favorite birthday presents! I will say we have a lot of iPads and Kindles out there! I am still trying to get threw all the comments! The best thing for a blogger is a full inbox! I had a giveaway once with only 5 people, so this is really Awesome! Yippee! (I am jumping and kicking my heels together). I really haven't posted anything lately because I have been grieving! Yesterday, I decided I had better do something (to pull myself out of this) so I cut up the Lorax panel and a few strips to sew a boarder on then sewed the background to the main fabric on the first block for the Skill Builder BOM . The lesson is excellent, I followed the step-by-step instructions with no problems at all. The hardest part was choosing the colors I would use. I finished the block this morning, it is called "Soundwave" and I am sooo happy with it! The O...

February Starts

Image
I started a few things in February and did some catching up on my blocks for Scrappy? Sew bee it! . I made a pouch for the Modern Scrappy Bits Swap! and mailed all of it off to their new homes. I made a pouch and an apron for my sweetheart for Valentines only a few days late. My digital Kenmore got sick and no matter what I tried would not stitch right. Yesterday, it finally got sent off through Sears to be cleaned, repaired, and oiled. I hope they can repair it! I really love my Kenmore's. Luckily, I have an older Kenmore that is not digital but still stitches great! It took time to put the one machine away and set this other one up! My husband knows me, I am usually late, even when I try not to be. . Zoey got a new hat, but it fit David's bulldog better than Zoey, by summer it should fit fine. It was not as hard as I thought it might be to make. This is all a rehash of what I made over the last month and have blogged about at In The Boon Docks 1. Feb block 2 , 2...

Baby Photographer?

Image
My husband and I decided to make a quick run to our daughters yesterday for the day, to see her family. My daughter wanted me to take some photographs of "Zoey" for birth announcements. We went out and bought a few props and came back to the apartment and went to work. My daughters significant other was at work until 7 pm last night. His reaction to what was going on when he got home made me laugh. I will explain more in a minute. Here are the photos of our attempt to get the perfect shot! Ha ha. Our beautiful butterfly! This is my favorite one but look at all the junk in the background! Here she was telling me "Please give me my pacifier back"! Don't take a binky away from a tired baby! Oops bad idea! Happy baby with the big ugly plug! Lessons Learned : Pay for professional pictures, those photographers earn every penny! I present 5 week old "Zoey" Now back to Michael, he came rushing through the apartment door because as he said "I co...

Leona is having a Tula Pink Giveaway @ Leona's Quilting Adventure Hurry on over to sign up! Rooster on the loose! Over two weeks ago, the rooster escaped from the hen house and ever since has run all over the property avoiding all my efforts to recapture him. He has been chased by dogs and now the chihuahua runs from the rooster. There was an ice storm last night and he seemed to have come out of it unscathed. While I was doing my chicken chores this morning he hung around and eat corn I threw to him. I am hoping maybe he will decide to move back in with his hens soon. My newest pouch for my swap partner in the Flickr group Modern Scrappy Bits Swap . I have learned how to make needle books, fabric baskets, and pouches. I recommend joining swap groups. If you are interested in finding a group go to Flickr and join if you are not a member. Then login and go to the search window a drop down box will appear and click on groups search groups . Mail Call

Gmama Jane's of GrandMama's Stories , Dare To Dresden Blog Hop, giveaway arrived in the mail yesterday. I am so in love with her mini quilt that has come to live "In The Boon Docks" it will be cherished I promise! It is already hung on the wall with the other small quilts I have acquired. My goal is to one day have this wall completely covered with little quilts by all the talented women I have met in blogland. It is funny how small the world really is with the internet at our finger tips. Jane and her husband both went to Marshall University here in West Virginia not 30 minutes from my home. They are coming for a college function in April and have invited me to meet with them. I am excited! Thank you Jane, for the wonderful giveaway goodies and the invite! It is 29 degrees here today "In The Boon Docks" with snow flurries. Good weather to stay indoors and sew! Hope you get a chance to sew today too! Lisa

The Covert Robin

I have signed up for: I am working on a pouch for my partner in the Modern Scrappy Bits Swap . I am using Perle Cotton to outline the boxes on both the front and the back of the pouch. Having never done this before it is a mystery how it will turn out but I do like the colors. Pairing Robert Kaufman, Kona Solid " Coal " and a mini charm of V and Co., " Simply Color " makes for a bright and happy pouch.. Here "In The Boon Docks", it is very cold and windy! A good day to stay inside and sew! Thank you for stopping by and please consider signing up at Rachael's Imagine Gnats for The Covert Robin . The link will take you right to her door to find out more. Enjoy your day! Lisa
