Need a Tote? I got one for you and it’s free

Image
Happy Sunday! I finished the Reversible Box Tote #reversibleboxtote yesterday pattern by #veryshannon @soveryshannon It is a free pattern and quick and easy! Another words you can make one no matter your skill level! I will make it again. You can find the tote pattern on the website here! www.veryshannon.com I used @riflepaperco Strawberry Fields fabric and Horizon 2021 Kona Solid of the year by @robertkaufman  Robert Kaufman Fabrics   for the lining. I sewed it all together with  Aurifil Thread  #aurifil50wt @aurifilthread  using a black and matching blue! On topstitched sides I used black as my top thread and blue as my bobbin thread. It was very easy to do the top sides with wonder clips. It was new for me and everything was right in the directions!  Well written pattern. I did sew twice around the topstitching area to give it move stability. If your looking for a new knitting or sewing bag I highly recommend the pattern! #boxtote #sewing #knittingb...

January 2022 Last year I was delighted to win a subscription in Kristy Lea’s  Quiet Play Designs Pattern Club 2022 This years quilt is called “In The Garden” I finished both blocks this month without trouble. January Blocks Bouquet block Chain of Leaves This is a 6 month foundation paper piecing subscription and you could join anytime! It really is beautiful! In The Garden I am really excited  and determined to complete  this quilt this year! Please if you are getting this  by email can you leave me a comment on my blog! I was surprised when I received two emails after I posted last time.  I was very disappointed when I found out last year we would loose all our email followers. 2022 - Triangles On a Roll

Image
Hello, I am still here! Just been absent awhile, but I am still sewing! Got a phone to do everything in one place still working the kinks out! Triangles on a Roll is a great product to make perfect half square triangles! You can get them in so many sizes! Great if you want a little or a lot! They are available at  Fat Quarter Shop As the name says, they come on a roll and you just cut off how many you need! Take 2 fabrics, right sides together and pin! Then just sew! Simple as that! Easy peasy! Then just cut them apart! I find it is more accurate to use a rotary cutter!  But if you don’t have one scissors due fine,  just cut on the line! Pull the papers of and press! Then you just sew them together in whatever pattern you want! Here I used  Pinwheel Variation Block  by Sweet. Little Quilts. The fabric is Spring Chicken by  Sweetwater Company Have a great day!  Try something new! Thank you for reading - Lisa

Bella Skill Builder Quilt Along 2017 WIP Finish

Image
WIP Finish I was a blogger with the  Fat Quarter Shop For the Bella Skill Builder Quilt Along 2017 look here for more info My good friend, A local Longarmer, Irene Hensley, quilted it for me! All washed and ready to used. My grandson is happy to have it for his bed! It is really beautiful and I feel kind of  guilty it took 4 years to finish the quilting and  put a binding on.  This Summer I am going to see, how many more might be hiding around here! Do you have any WIPs just hiding out somewhere? Finish something, Always here, Lisa

Pouch - Rayos D’ Sol Pouch

Image
Welcome to In The Boon Docks I am Lisa Thank you for stopping by  and checking out my blog! Rayos D’ Sol Pouch Is available for free at Laura Raquel Quilts I chose prints from Sun Print 2021 Ordered from Alison Glass Shop The pattern is not complicated  Any beginner could complete it. It is well written and with great diagrams for completing the project! I love the professional look  and will make many more! I finally decided on the layout above! I do recommend trying out different fabrics ahead of sewing.  I wasn’t happy with my first front side  and ended up picking out my stitches and starting over! Could have saved myself some time  If I would have auditioned my fabrics beforehand! I had to stop and fix my machine in the middle! The stitches where messed  up and I had to fix the tension! You can see here (more picking stitches)! Art Theory was perfect for the bag lining. The Zipper Pull Is available from Alison Glass Insignia Bag Pull I really enjo...

Quilty Pages Needlebook by Princess in a Pouch Designs

Image
Quilty Pages Needlebook  by Sarah Gozzo Available on Etsy This is my needlebook! Available on her blog Quilty Pages Needlebook Princess in a Pouch Designs The pattern is made for anyone who sews beginners to advanced! It has a lot of ways to add your own spin on it! I knew the thing missing from all my other needlebooks  was a zipper pouch to keep my needle threader  and ThimblePads by Colonial Needle! You can get ThimblePads at the  Fat Quarter Shop I looked up on YouTube and watched a video on how to sew vinyl (Vinyl Zipper Pouch) the first  one that came up was by Erica Arndt It showed me what I needed to know. Since I was making this for myself I used my favorite Heather Ross fabrics! The zippers are good to hold any little things you don’t want to slip out! The butterfly pouch is in the pattern to hold  spools of thread, mine being Aurifil Thread of course! Aurifil is good for machine and hand sewing. A place to hold needles! The Heather Ross Spider i...
